Due: See calendar (category = ux_design)
In the first week of class, you will sign up to give a 5-minute (timed) presentation on a principle of UX design that you draw from Joshua Porter and Josh Brewer’s website 52 Weeks of UX Design (except for “The First Rule of UX Design” and “10 Principles of UX”). Your job is to:
- explain the principle to the class
- demonstrate its application or relevance to a website or other form of media, which could be one of the assigned readings, or something you discover online through your own searching.
Create a post for your short presentation that links to the UX principle as well as to any site you use to demonstrate it. Your post may also include a Powerpoint presentation, Prezi, Google slides, or anything other tool you think can help demonstrate the principle. Ideally, your post will both describe and uphold the principle you discuss. Your “ux design” post should communicate the principle and its application in a way that is meaningful to anyone who isn’t there for your presentation, so that by the end of the semester, we have our own mini encyclopedia of UX design principles and applications.
This assignment is not graded, but we will give you comments, and you can earn participation credit and by commenting on your classmates’ UX Design posts.
