We are now embarking on the digital projects portion of the course. This is the time in which you design, manage, and bring to fruition your own research project, using digital tools and platforms. In addition to learning about the topic of your inquiry, you’ll be mastering new tools, practicing new methods, and learning about project management.
Step 1: Establishing Deliverables & Roles
The first step in project design is to identify your project parameters and goals. Create a Project Proposal & Social Media Network Plan post. This post should include:
- Describe your project’s deliverables: what question are you pursuing and what exactly do you want to produce? This paragraph could take the form of “we are studying…, because we want to know… so that our readers/users will understand…” but must also include a description of what genre, form, or product you hope to generate. What shape or form will your project take and what components will it include?
- if you are collaborating, list of each person’s roles and responsibilities
- list of the tools or platforms you will use for communicating, sharing information, and maintaining a calendar (e.g. Slack, Google folders, Zotero, etc…)
- list the social media you plan to use to attract and enlist an audience and briefly explain how you will use them.
